Angular contact ball bearings have inner and external ring raceways that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. These bearings may be preloaded at the factory so that the appropriate preload will establish within the bearing.
The bearings in this series are put together with a specific internal clearance so that they will have a specified contact angle under load. The standard contact load utilized is 30 °; bearings made to a 40 ° contact angle bring the suffix B. For high speed grinding spindles, the 7000C, 7200C and the 7300C series are offered. They are high
accuracy bearings with a 15 ° contact angle, and phenolic resin cages for high speed operations.
This means that these bearings are created to accommodate combined loads, i.e. at the same time acting radial and axial loads.
The axial load bring capability of angular contact ball bearings increases as the contact angle boosts. The contact angle is defined as the angle between the line joining the points of contact of the ball and the raceways in the radial aircraft, along which the combined load is sent from one raceway to another, and a line perpendicular to the bearing axis.
The most frequently utilized designs are:
single row angular contact ball bearings
double row angular contact ball bearings
four-point contact ball bearings
In addition to the bearings presented in this area, other angular contact ball bearings include:
Super-precision angular contact ball bearings
Double row camera rollers
Fixed area angular contact ball bearings
Center bearing units
